We drove to Kuala Kubu Bharu (7am clear custom, 1pm reach). Led by google map to a launching point of water rafting.
Didn't find any office there. But a security guard there gave us a whatapps contact of
adrenx.my
to link up with. Went to make booking for next day water rafting.
Was told that there are around 8 operators that provide water rafting activities.
Home stay at KKB, Baharu Campsite & Resort. A nice stay.
Next day, reached the office at 9am. Was told that that day water level is low and hence not as "difficult" as with
high water level. Put our important belonging (water proof!) into a dry bag and bring alone.
Non-important items can leave in the car or office.
Was given some basic instructions to follow such as forward, inwards, move left/right/front/back and etc.
I've done my 1st water drafting when I was in Sabah in 1995Oct climbing Mount Kinabalu
and seeing total solar eclipse. 2nd water rafting with my father in Nepal in 1995Dec trekking.
A pickup bought the boat and us to the launching point up-stream.
Be4 any challenging rapid ahead, we were briefed by the experts on how we were going to go through it.
Whole journey took about 2.5 hours. We're the only boat on that day on that river - low season.
Was impressed by the dedication and thankful for the good altitude of the experts.
This was my 3rd water rafting and I think it was fairly exciting and challenging (grade 2 or 3).
My son and brother sure enjoyed it.
We decided to take the northern route to reach Bentong. Road heading north are curvy. It will ascend first be4 descend.
Traffic is very light. A tough drive and focus/attention is needed.
But I will not take this route if it is rainy or at night.
The journey heading south are straight drive and very light traffic.
This north-then-south route also takes longer time.
Going south-then-north route (using high way) sh be faster. Next day we went to the old marker area for breakfast.
There are more traditional coffee shops there.
We went to Baharu Bukit Tinggi. This area is busy with lots of shops (durian store also!) and restaurants.
Few homestays in the area were fully booked.
Next time we should book in advance the Homestay in this hilly area.
Decided to stay in KL for 1 night. Met Ex-O2micro Friend Ken Khoo in KL for dinner. Last night stay in See Nam JB house.
